The Association of Interpreters and Translators in Bulgaria was founded in 1996 as an independent non-profit professional association of translators and interpreters in Bulgaria. Over the years the Association has evolved and has turned into a trusted partner, advisor and source of information in the area of translation and interpreting for many clients, governmental institutions, non-profit organisations and professionals.
Our objective is to promote the highest standards and best practices in the profession. AIT unites interpreters and translators who strive to achieve perfection in an area of such importance. Our efforts are underpinned by the focus on quality, professionalism, expedience and flexibility.
AIT also offers advice and guidance to people who want to enter the profession and who need to be educated of the importance of communication and language services in general.
Our slogan is "Interpretation is a bridge. Let us cross it together". And promoting this slogan the Management Board of the AIT is seeking to establish contacts with similar organisations in the European Union and globally to exchange good practices and information, and to work jointly and support any project promoting the high quality in translation and interpreting.
